This Thursday, the Head of State of Norway, King Harald V, received from Ambassador Ramón Gordils the credentials that accredit him as the new diplomatic representative of Venezuela in that country.
The Venezuelan Ambassador was received in a solemn audience by the King of Norway in his office at the Royal Palace in Oslo, according to a press release.
In the meeting, the Ambassador Gordils He conveyed to the king the greeting of President Nicolás Maduro, who in a reciprocal gesture asked to convey his respects back to the Venezuelan president.
The occasion was propitious to remember the visit to Oslo of President Hugo Chávez made
twenty years earlier, in October 2002, in comparable circumstances of crisis

Venezuela and Norway have maintained diplomatic relations since 1840, when they
signed the Treaty of Friendship, Commerce and Navigation between both governments, which

Both countries share roles as guarantors of the dialogue process between the Colombian government and the National Liberation Army, ELN, reactivated after Colombian President Gustavo Petro came to power.
On the other hand, Norway has participated since 2019 as a facilitator of the dialogue process between the Constitutional Government of Venezuela and sectors of the opposition without parliamentary representation.
