The businessman and president of Cutcsa, Juan Salgado, gave a The Observer interview in which he spoke on various topics. Among them, he put himself in the shoes of President Luis Lacalle Pou and slipped advice on what he would do in the remainder of his term.

When asked how he saw the government march, Salgado replied: This period is divided into two parts: a first, brilliant. We cannot complain about how all the issues were handled, with austerity and responsibility. At some point we all had opinions, but someone had to decide. That is what I value most in this president, who several times had to say: “Let’s go this way.” Now comes the political part, and managing the times.”

Next, he said what he would do if he were the president. “If it were me, the first thing I would think is: “Juan, don’t want to do now what you could have done in a period. I chose certain things, and carry them forward.” The Uruguayans also respected, regardless of what was said. If you handle the issues and prioritize them according to those that concern you the most, such as safety or quality work, you can end well From the point of view of transportation, it was excellent, with the responsibility that, if one of the legs was missing, this would derail.

Salgado also spoke about the mayor of Montevideo, Carolina Cosse, about who he considered “wants to look like” Tabaré Vázquez, and about policies related to transportation.
