Jorge Dimas: ‘We have asked the ATTT to review the fare in West Panama’

The Panama West carriers have been unemployed since Monday, a situation that has affected hundreds of people who go to their jobs, schools, on a daily basis.

The president of the West Panama Provincial Chamber of Transport, Jorge Dimas, provided details on Tuesday about the actions of the province’s carriers, after the increase in fuel.

He announced that for this Tuesday the presidents of the internal routes of the western area will be approaching the headquarters of the Land Transit and Transportation Authority (ATTT) of La Chorrera, since the director of the entity managed a connection for them to be able to talk and reach some agreement.

“We have requested the freezing of diesel and gasoline or the review of the rate. The government has to take action and guarantee the user that the carrier can continue to provide the service,” Dimas said.

He added that there are internal routes that are charging $0.30, an amount that he no longer gives them to continue providing the service. “We seek the review of the rate so that they can continue to provide the service,” he reiterated.
