On September 29, the Minister of the Interior, Willy Huerta Olivawent to the home of the second vice president of Congress, dignified streetwhich is located in the district of La Molina.
Six days before the controversial visit (September 23), the head of the Ministry had been saved from being censured by the Legislature amid questions about the obstruction of the work of the colonel Harvey Colchadohead of the Search Division (Divbus) of the General Intelligence Directorate (Digimin), which investigates the environment of President Pedro Castillo.
In that plenary session, the second vice president, Digna Calle, together with the congressmen of Podemos Peru, Enrique Wong, José Luna Gálvez, Juan Burgos and Óscar Zea, abstained from voting in favor of the departure of the questioned minister.
The Podemos vote generated more doubts than certainties in the opposition benches. The questions were immediate, especially in this last week, when the arrival of Willy Huerta at the house of the Congressman Digna Calle.
In this scenario, a character who, until then, went unnoticed in Congress comes to light. Is about John Apolinario Saba Guerraformer adviser to the de facto president Manuel Merino de Lama and former comptroller Edgar Alarcón.
Saba Guerra is the main adviser to Congresswoman Calle on the Board of Directors, but before that he fulfilled the same function with her husband, former Congressman Aron Espinoza, in the months of May and July 2021.
Previously, he advised Merino in Congress in 2011 and 2016. He then went on to work with Edgar Alarcón in the liaison office of the Comptroller of Parliament; however, he returned to the side of the acciopopulista when he was elected as a congressman in the 2020-2021 period.
In that legislature, Alarcón had also won a seat with the game of Union for Peru (UPP). The former congressman chaired the Oversight Commission and promoted the vacancy against Martín Vizcarra.
Sources from La República indicated that, during that period, Saba Guerra, in his capacity as advisor, would have coordinated a meeting between Merino and Alarcón in a restaurant in the Plaza de Armas for the distribution of the parliamentary commissions.
After the departure of the acciopopulist in his attempt to remain in the presidency (November 15, 2020), Saba began to advise Podemos Peru until April 2021; and in May of that same year he worked with then congressman Aron Espinoza.
This week, the husband of Congresswoman Calle has come to the fore after the legislator affirmed in the last plenary session that the arrival of Willy Huerta’s minister was due to a meeting she held with her husband, Aron Espinoza.
“You see my house because I live there and my husband lives there, who is a representative of the CEN of Podemos Peru, and, as he belongs, he has the freedom to meet with whomever he wants. And at my home he can also meet because I cannot forbid him that ”said the member of the Board of Directors in his defense.
