The Special Electoral Jury of West Lima 1 ordered the nullity of the municipal elections in the district of Lince after the claim of the legal representative of Avanza País, Aldo Borrerosince neither the name of the candidate nor the logo of the party were included in the ballot papers.
The decision comes after two political groups, the Purple Party and Avanza País, request the annulment of the elections in Linceunder the premise of alleged irregularities presented in the process.
Thus, finally, the JEE of Lima Oeste 1 issued the Resolution No. 01963-2022-JEE-LIO1/JNE, in which the request of Avanza País is declared founded. What exactly happened? According to a previous opinion of the entity, the application for registration of the list of candidates of the political organization had been declared inadmissible due to the lack of the digital signature of the personero. However, on September 16, the Fifth Constitutional Court of Lima stopped the measure.
Despite this, the logo of said party was not included in the ballot paper for the municipal elections of the district of Lince due to a decision of the ONPE.
“Declare founded the request for annulment presented by the legal representative of the Political Organization AVANZA PAÍS – SOCIAL INTEGRATION PARTY, Aldo Fabrizio Borrero Rojas. Consequently, to declare the nullity of the municipal elections in the district of Lince, province and department of Lima, due to having proven serious irregularities in the development of the process and due to the violation of electoral regulations and fundamental rights of a constitutional nature, which must be parts to their previous state, in order to guarantee the due electoral process and the full and free expression of the will of the electorate”, reads the resolution of the JEE of Lima Oeste 1, issued this Saturday, October 8.
