Given the statements and remarks of the Colombian Chamber of Infrastructure (CCI) regarding low rates of execution in public works by the National Institute of Roads (Invias), the entity specified that the Investments made in public infrastructure works during the course of this year continue to contribute to Colombia’s economic growth.
(CCI makes a call to Invías and warns about the low execution).
“Historically, Invías has executed during the first months the budget validity and the budget reserve of the previous year, which corresponds to an additional $1.4 billion. This means that, really, the sum of these two are the resources injected into the economy, since they have to do directly with the purchase of inputs, the generation of employment and the payment of materials,” he stressed.
Furthermore, he concluded that To date, Invías has executed 20.6% of the budget and has achieved commitments of $3.47 billion.
