He Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) issued this Thursday morning a yellow alert for heavy rains covering part of the country.
According to the agency, an “atmospheric disturbance associated with a humid and unstable air mass affects the country, generating storms some punctually strong“.
In addition, in stormy areas “it will be possible to record intense rains in short periods, occasional hail, intense electrical activity and strong gusts of wind“.
The next update of this warning will be made at 10:30 on Thursday, except for “eventual changes”.
Localities affected by the yellow alert
Peach: Peach, Ombúes de Oribe and Santa Bernardina.
Florida: Alejandro Gallinal, Casupa, Goñi, Reboledo, San Gabriel and Sarandí Grande.
lavalleja: Blanes Viale, Gaetán, Mariscala, North Polanco, South Polanco and Villa Serrana.
maldonado: Aiguá.
rock: April 19, Arachania, La Paloma, La Pedrera, Puerto de los Botes and Rocha.
