Interamericana will remain open until 10:00 at night

The roads will be open until 10:00 at night to allow the passage of the humanitarian caravan that is heading from the province of Chiriquí to Panama City to supply food to the population.

This was stated by indigenous leaders when they assured that at noon they would open the Inter-American highway as a sign of goodwill for the negotiations.

“Ngäbe-Buglé people, Chiricano peasant farmers and teachers who are supporting us at the different closing points, dear colleagues, in consensus with the different bases we have agreed at this time to open it from 12 noon, since We are not going to allow people from outside the movement to endanger our protesters,” they said in a video.

In addition to this, the leaders indicated that they will remain at the dialogue table waiting for the government and warned that “those who want to harm this movement, we will not allow it.”

They stressed that they will remain vigilant, on vigil, to any development of the content that is going to be given and that they will respect the position of a single decision to make way for food, without this representing that they have been sold.

“We are working for the peace and tranquility of this country and of the Nägbe and peasant people, we are going to reopen the road until 10 p.m. from 12 noon to supply the people of eastern Chirica and guarantee that merchants can sell their products at the different points where there is a shortage,” they specified.
