In January, 21% more square meters were licensed than in 2021

According to the last record of the National Administrative Department of Statistics (Dane), in January 2022 licensed 1,693,704 m² for construction371,607 m² more than in the same month of the previous year (1,322,097 m²), which meant an increase of 28.1%.

This result is explained by the 145.0% increase in the approved area for non-residential destinations and the 11.6% increase for housing.”, indicated the entity.
Likewise, in the analysis period, 401,108 m² were approved for non-residential destinations, which meant an increase of 237,394 m² compared to the same month of 2021.

On the other hand, 1,292,596 m² were approved for housing constructionwhich represented an increase of 134,213 m² compared to January of the previous year.
In the biennial analysis, the area approved in January 2022 decreased 0.8% compared to January 2020.

It is explained by the decrease in the approved area of ​​11.2% for housing, while there was an increase of 59% for non-residential destinations.”, declared the Dane.
In addition, from February 2021 to January 2022, 21,929,751 m² were licensed for building.
