The draft legislative act announced that the remuneration of congressmen should not exceed 25 monthly salaries. Namelyabout 28 million pesos. Currently, the salary of parliamentarians is above 34 million pesos.

They also point out that the remuneration of congressmen is not understood as a criterion for setting the salary regime for other public officials. Today salaries like those of the magistrates of the high courts, prosecutors delegated to the high courts and attorneys are set based on that of the legislators.

The legislative act clarifies that the salary allocation would be made until the end of the constitutional period. That is, in 2026.
