Guillermo Moreno solicita a Abinader revocar aumentos en tarifa eléctrica

Guillermo Moreno asks Abinader to revoke increases in electricity rates

What concern about the urgency of lighten the heavy burden borne by Dominican families and small and medium-sized businesses, the president of the Country Alliance Party, William Morenorequested the President Luis Abinader revoke the latest electricity rate increases and postpone any other contemplated increase.

¨It is imprudent to persist in these increases in the electricity rate, at a time of economic sensitivity, while the living conditions of the population have deteriorated due to the high prices of food, fuel and the entire value chain in which they affect petroleum derivatives¨, stated Moreno.

In this sense, the political leader commented ¨The expansion plan for the electricity sector focuses solely on increasing the installed capacity for electricity generation to guarantee hot and cold reserves, but does not contain a single measure or goal to reduce the prices that Dominican men and women have to pay for the service¨.

These statements were offered by Guillermo Moreno, during the reception of new affiliates and affiliates of various nuclei of districts 1, 2 and 3 of the District National, held last Sunday, where young people, women, men and older supporters of the partisan philosophy of Alianza País were sworn in, within the framework of its national affiliation campaign.

During this act, the political leader also explained that it is necessary to redefine the 2022-2026 expansion plan to concentrate the efforts of the State in encouraging and installing generation plants based on clean energy, mainly hydraulic, wind and solar.

At the event, the enthusiasm of the new Alliance members abounded, who, upon taking their oath, assumed the commitment to work to bring Alianza País to power and from there implement its government program based on the efficiency of the State, distribution of the country’s wealth among the poor, quality of public services, zero corruption and zero impunity.
