Guayaquil will host the Bolivarian Games in 2025

The The candidacy was approved by the general assembly of the Bolivarian Sports Organization (Odebo). Ecuador was host for the last time in 2001.

The Bolivarian Sports Organization (Odebo), during the general assembly held this Saturday, November 18, 20221, he chose Guayaquil as the campus of the XX Bolivarian Games, which will be developed in 2025.

The Ecuadorian Olympic Committee (COE) Together with the Mayor’s Office of Guayaquil, they presented the candidacy. Ecuador has been the host of this international contest on three previous occasions.

In 1965, the competitions were held in Quito and Guayaquil. In 1985, the competitions were held in the sports venues of Ambato, Cuenca and Portoviejo in 1985. Finally, in the fourteenth edition, the venue was Ambato during 2001.

Through his Twitter account, the Sports Minister, Sebastian Palacios, said: “In a historic year for the ecuadorian sport, this news motivates us more! A lot of teamwork ahead, together we will achieve it. We are ready”.

He also thanked the President of the Republic, Guillermo Lasso, for the support provided to the Ecuadorian sport.

While in his speech, during the general assembly, Palacios pointed out that: “This is a milestone for the country, a legacy that he leaves for future generations and he does in different areas: in sports because our youth tricolor are dreaming of leaving in those Games all his effort and climb to the top of the Bolivarian podium. It also does it in the economic sphere since, with sporting events, we are also able to inject resources ”.

Once the venue has been chosen, Odebo will designate a Monitoring Commission for the census of scenarios and other advances for the sports event, which will succeed the Games that will be held in Valledupar next year, in northern Colombia.
