Government of CDMX captures income of 139,829.5 million pesos in the first half of 2022

During the first semester of 2022, the total income of Mexico City they added 139,829.5 million pesos, 9.6% above estimate and with a real positive variation of 5% when compared to the same period in 2021, revealed the January-June Quarterly Progress Report.

The document that was delivered to the local Congress by the local Secretary of Administration and Finance (STyFE), specified that this increase is due to the evolution of state economic activity, as well as the positive economic perspectives for the country towards the end of the year.

“A greater consumption, production and employment is reflected, which explains to a great extent the positive performance of the public finances of the capital”, deepened the analysis.

According to the document, increases were generated in local, federal and non-financial parastatal sector revenues.

Within local revenues, taxpayers had an “outstanding performance”, thanks to the fact that seven of the nine local taxes exceeded their goals for the period.

The Property Tax and Payroll Tax (ISN) together they contributed 80.2% of tax revenues. The Predial reported a collection of 16,934.3 million pesos, 7.1% more than estimated, while the ISN collected 16,768.0 million, 10.5% above its goal. Comparing the cut of the second quarter of this year with the same period of time but in 2021, they were 6.7 and 8.2% higher, at the real rate.

“The Tax on Public Shows, linked to cultural, sports and entertainment activities, exceeded the goal set for the period by 111.3%, with the collection of 232.3 million pesos between January and June. Likewise, it exceeded what was collected in the same period of 2021 by 174.5%, at a real rate,” revealed the local authority.

For federal income, 73,450.8 million pesos were received, 8.4% more than estimated for the period and 6.2% more than what was collected in the same period of 2021, in real terms.

The factors that helped were the growth of the rparticipatory federal fundraisingas well as oil revenues.

Meanwhile, the revenues of the non-financial parastatal sector accumulated 10,259.1 million pesos, 57.2% more than programmed and 4% above what was captured in the second quarter of 2021, in real terms.

“These results are explained by the income received from the sale of goods and services, which almost doubled its goal, largely due to the increased use of transportation services public,” he said.

In terms of spending, Mexico City reported that until this half of the year there has been an increase in spending greater than 50 percent.

As of the second quarter, the resources exercised and committed are equivalent to 143,865.1 million pesos and the dependencies with the greatest progress are the Secretariat of Original Towns and Neighborhoods and Resident Indigenous Communities, the STyFE, the Mobility Secretariat, the Secretariat of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, as well as the Environment Secretariat.

The mayor’s offices register an exercised and committed expenditure of 49.5 percent.

At the end of June 2022, the public debt balance of the City Government was 91,016.2 million pesos, which gives a nominal temporary deleveraging of 3.7% and a real deleveraging of 7.4%, with respect to the closing of 2021.

For the public debt, amortization payments were made for an amount of 1,751.6 million pesos.
