A second sergeant of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) was shot dead on the Autopista Regional del Centro, near Mariara, Carabobo section, according to police sources.
The initial versions indicate that a group of subjects confronted a GNB commission attached to the Road Services Unit, kilometer 127, Covenal sector, Mariara (Carabobo).
The military arrived at the site just as the group of criminals was taking a damaged tow truck, Ford 1987, license plate A01A73G.
Once the situation was controlled, the military recovered the crane, whose driver was unharmed. But in addition, they located the body of Sergeant Richard Eduardo López Tovar and informed the Cicpc, whose troops removed the body.
They presume that the soldier was murdered by thugs, for them to have a free hand and be able to take the crane.
