Giuzzio in drug truck: seized assets cannot be used for private purposes, according to Senabico

The former Minister of the Interior, Arnaldo Giuzzio, travels in a truck seized by Senabico, for belonging to a suspected drug trafficker. The institution clarifies that the assets cannot be used for private purposes, but rather for the fight against drug trafficking.

Senabico’s legal director, Gonzalo García, confirmed that the truck in which Arnaldo Giuzzio arrived yesterday for his witness statements belongs to a person investigated for drug trafficking and precisely for this reason, the cell phone was seized.

“This asset cannot be used for private purposes, it is an asset that is used to fight against organized crime,” García explained to the Caja Negra program, referring to the vehicle in which Giuzzio travels.

He added that there is no regulation in which these shots for institutional use are enabled for other purposes. In the case of Giuzzio, the truck was delivered three months ago and there is a control calendar.

According to articles 10 and 39, the goods are destined to entities that are dedicated to the fight against drug trafficking and the rehabilitation of addicts. The distributions are precisely for the beneficiary entity to use for institutional purposes, therefore, they never benefit a particular person or official.

In this regard, reports have already been requested from the Ministry of the Interior about the use of this van. Subsequently, the results will be communicated to the Prosecutor’s Office, in order to determine administrative responsibilities.

Senabico is studying the possibility of investing in technology and placing GPS on the entire fleet of seized vehicles, for a more rigorous control.
