Forestry contractor unions held parallel demonstrations at four different points, which included traffic cuts and barricades, generating traffic jams on the routes. The various acts of violence that occurred in the South Macrozone prompted these protests held in Biobío, La Araucanía and Los Ríos
The four demonstrations were held in Arauco, Curanilahue, Duqueco and Valdivia. These protests occurred after the attack that affected 33 machines in Los Alamos, province of Arauco.

In a conversation with Biobío, the president of the Chilean Foundation for Victims of Terrorism in the South Macrozone, Fernando Fuentealba, commented that the demonstration “is legitimate, its drivers are being killed and shot.”
He also added that “this is a situation that is dragged by several governments, therefore, this is not an ideological issue, much less a political one; this is a very serious problem for the country.”

The helmsman believes that this security problem has nothing to do with the Mapuche cause. “There are several groups that have used a problem of the Mapuche people to say that this is a struggle for vindication,” he said.
He also added that “in general, what there are are groups that act brutally, without any attachment to life and that are linked to different acts or illicit acts (…) that is the reality. Normally, the authorities of various governments They have acted with a nonchalance that draws attention, because they always lower the profile of this situation; we talk about terrorism, we don’t talk about crime.

Finally, Fuentealba expressed the desire to return to the state of emergency in the area. “Obviously there were fewer attacks (with the state of exception) and that the empirical figures do not lie, that’s why I say, they will be able to manipulate the information a lot, but the facts and numbers do not lie and they are there.”
