Valentine’s resignation
It was released on November 9. The former senator for the Santiago province and member of the Political Committee of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) Julius Caesar Valentine presented his resignation from that organization, arguing that his progressive convictions conflict with statements, practices and political-ideological criteria that he considers disassociated from the ideological tradition of the party founded by Professor Juan Bosch.

Valentín said in his letter that he feels more still with his disassociation from the party that with the participation in internal debates in which their positions and convictions will be in disagreement with the political strategy, the rhetoric and the electoral practice that the purple party will follow, which they believe is distant from their ideological identity.
At that time, he clarified that he is moving away from the PLD, but not from the political activityand affirmed that it will continue to explore other ways that allow them to contribute to the country achieving its sustainable development objectives with structural reforms that make the prevailing economic model more productive, competitive, inclusive and fair for all.
PLD internal consultation
It is recalled that Julio César Valentín supported ex-presidential candidate Francisco Domínguez Brito in the last internal consultation of the purple party, who came second, behind the mayor of Santiago Abel Martínez.
Some leaders of the Central Committee of the PLD in Santiago have felt harassed by the current presidential candidate Abel Martínez, to the point that after his victory he has supposedly not called them.
