This Monday, the Venezuelan Integral Aerospace System (Saiv) detected and intercepted a aircraft Cessna allegedly linked to drug trafficking activities that violated national airspace, landing in Acarigua, Portuguesa state, reported the head of the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Ceofanb), Domingo Hernández Lárez.
Through his Twitter account, Hernández Lárez specified that the pilots of the illegal aircraft ordered to land in Acarigua fled.
He explained that the aircraft came from Mexico, “it was heading in an internal flight to the town of Chichén Itzá and changed course to the southeast, turning off the communications and transponder systems, until it was detected by Venezuelan radars.”
“The Venezuelan Integral Aerospace System detects, intercepts and orders to land a Cessna aircraft that violated national airspace, landing in the early morning hours in the city of Acarigua, the pilots fleeing, the aircraft came from Mexico, It was heading in an internal flight towards the town of Chichén Itzá and changed course to the southeast, turning off the communications and transponder systems, until it was detected by Venezuelan radars. The crew members are currently being tracked. It is presumed that it was used for drug trafficking purposes, noting that the identifications of the fuselage had been erased, ”the Chief of Ceofanb published on Twitter.
The Chief of the Ceofanb added that after the escape of the pilots of the aircraft, the FANB is in the process of tracking the crew members.
He also stressed that due to the characteristics of the aircraft intercepted by the FANB “it is presumed that it was used for drug trafficking purposes, noting that the fuselage identifications had been erased.”
Detected another illegal aircraft in Lake Maracaibo
In another message on his Twitter account, the Chief of Ceofanb reported that the Integral Aerospace System intercepted another hostile aircraft over Lake Maracaibo, Zulia state.
He explained that the aircraft used “a cargo ship as a shield to avoid being shot down by the Bolivarian Military Aviation.”
Faced with this new blow to the practices against the scourge of drugs, Hernández Lárez emphasized that he will continue in his frontal fight against drug trafficking.

FANB committed to the fight for sovereignty
Faced with these new incursions of aircraftthe head of Ceofanb, Domingo Hernández Lárez, ratified the commitment of the FANB in the fight against drug trafficking and for the defense of sovereignty.
In this sense, the FANB remains active protecting all the aquatic, terrestrial and air spaces of the country.
