The Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) disabled camps of the Colombian Drug Trafficking Armed Terrorists group (Tancol), in the Catatumbo municipality of Zulia state, used for the coca plantation.
The information was released through his account on the social network Twitter, the Strategic Operational Commander of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Ceofanb), Domingo Hernández Lárez, indicated that since Venezuela is a territory of peace, structures will not be allowed. that in which narcotic substances are processed.
“On the Colombian-Venezuelan border, Catatumbo municipality, #FANB disables facilities used by groups associated with drug trafficking on Venezuelan soil. Venezuela is a territory of peace, the establishment of structures for the purpose of processing illegal substances will not be allowed,” published Hernández Lárez.
Eradicate coca plantation
He explained that through the Bolivarian Shield Operation ‘Lightning of Catatumbo 2023’ on the Colombian-Venezuelan border, the FANB together with the National Anti-Drug Superintendency (Sunad) carried out actions to eradicate the coca plantation planted in the place by the groups Tancol.

FANB: patrol continues
The Chief of Ceofanb confirmed that the members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces remain deployed in Zulia state, to combat the Tancol drug trafficking groups that set up illegal structures to process drugs.
“#FANB, in compliance with its mission, patrols and tours the national security zone of Zulia state, dismantling structures and camps illegally established in our territory, used as processing centers by #Tancol groups,” he said on Twitter.
Given these findings, the head of Ceofanb, Domingo Hernández Lárez, reiterated that “Venezuela is a territory of peace, the establishment of structures for the purpose of processing illegal substances will not be allowed.”
He also added that the FANB together with the URRAS will continue to “razing illegal crops on the Zulian border edges.”
Fight against the Tancol
As will be recalled, in December 2021 the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, ordered the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) to combat criminal groups and release all the border spaces of the country of the bands called “Tancol”.
“All the Tancol, whatever they are called, wherever they are, are enemies of the Constitution, the FANB and the peace of the Republic and must be fought in the territory with all the military force of our country,” said the President in that occasion.

On the other hand, Hernández Lárez gave an account of a FAN operation in the state of Amazonas, specifically in the Yapacana National Park, in which a fuel depot used for illegal mining was dismantled, destroying the ecosystem with these actions.
“In the state of Amazonas, Yapacana National Park, #FANB dismantles illegal fuel deposit used in illegal mining by citizens disrespectful of national laws, who with their actions contaminate and destroy the environment and biodiversity,” said the Chief of Ceofanb on Twitter.
In addition, he added that during the Bolivarian Shield Autana 2023 operation, “8 engines, 2,500 meters of hose, 5 power plants, fuel and other materials” were also destroyed.
