During this year, a total of 25,000 military personnel were deployed in the border states with the aim of protecting the nation and fighting irregular groups on the border.
The information was released by the head of the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Ceofanb), GJ Domingo Hernández Lárez.
He highlighted the work of the military personnel who, in a permanent deployment, have seized war material from illegal armed groups that sought to violate sovereignty.
This year, the Fanb also disabled 42 illegal aircraft that violated the Control Law for the Comprehensive Defense of Air Space and that were used by drug traffickers. In addition, 1,609 explosive canisters were seized from the tankers.
In this sense, the head of Ceofanb specified that the troops will remain deployed in the territory of Guyana in order to disable tracks for the practice of illegal mining and drug trafficking.
