Members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) detained a citizen associated with the Colombian Narcotrafficking Terrorist group (Tancol), for traffic of drugs by possessing 16 marijuana panels and trying to circumvent a care post located in the town of Caicara del Orinoco, in the state of Bolívar.
The information was released this Saturday by the Operational Strategic Commander of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Ceofanb), G/J Domingo Hernández Lárez, through a message on his account on the social network Twitter.
He explained that the citizen was arrested after patrolling carried out by the FANB in Bolívar, which prevented the citizen from circumventing the Citizen Service Post (PAC) in Caicara del Orinoco.
“In Venezuela it is neither produced nor consumed drugs. Venezuela fights drug trafficking. The Tancol producer groups are unsuccessfully trying to take it to the buyers through our territory, there is a wall here, they will not pass”, stressed the Head of Ceofanb.
Review of parcels
On the other hand, Hernández Lárez indicated that a procedure was carried out in the parcel service of the DHL company, in which 164 kilograms of alleged drug, impregnated in cocoa powder, were seized.
“In reviewing parcels in the service provided by the DHL company, 164 kg of alleged drug were seized, impregnated in Cacao Powder CA based in the Sucre Municipality, Capital District. Procedure notified to Dr. Edgar Maurera, 3rd National Prosecutor with competence in Drugs », he specified.
FANB continues cross-border patrols
The head of Ceofanb, Domingo Hernández Lárez, recalled that the FANB in its fight against drug trafficking continues to patrols throughout the cross-border axis of the country, with the aim of providing protection to the people.
“FANB deployed in the fight against drug trafficking, denying their access and destroying all kinds of facilities that serve their purposes,” he said.
100% free of Tancol groups
The patrolling, aircraft disablement and border scrutiny operations are carried out under the order issued by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, who urged the FANB to declare 2022 as the year 100% free of Tancol groups.
