In this sense, the military organization emphasized through the head of the Operational Strategic Command of the Armed Forces (Ceofan), General in Chief Domingo Hernandez Larezthat the FAN continues to destroy the illegal camps “that settle arbitrarily in areas of security of the nation to destroy ecosystems such as national parks and forest reserves.”
The high official insisted on the necessary care of these areas and they obey territorial planning plans, while Venezuela “is a democratic State of law and justice.”
On May 2, the FAN announced the deployment of more than 5,000 troops “to confront criminal groups that mercilessly and arbitrarily violate and disrespect the Magna Carta and land use regulations in National Parks in Bolívar and Amazonas states. ».

Likewise, according to Ceofan, the Rapid Reaction Units (URRA) during patrol and scrutiny work on the banks of the Caura River, in the Sucre municipality of Bolívar state, “made the discovery and destruction” of various supplies used for illegal mining: a 220-liter drum of diesel fuel, a tube of one inch; two power plants and an outboard motor.
Also in Bolívar state, the apprehension of “a member of a criminal group with an AR-15 rifle dedicated to disabling and hindering penetration routes to isolate illegal mines and dominate the sector” was reported.
