After reaching record levels in tourism during the summer and Easter, the sector has great expectations for what will be the extra long weekend, since some destinations reach up to 100% of hotel occupancy.
From the Ministry of Tourism they reported that for this weekend that will start on Friday the 17th and will last until Monday the 20th, the level of lodging reservations exceeds 80% in most places, which translates into excellent levels of hotel occupancy.
In this sense, some of the destinations with the highest hotel occupancy They are located in the Argentine Northwest.such as Cafayate, the Quebrada de Humahuaca and Las Termas de RĂo Hondo.
In addition, “the TafĂ del Valle region (Tucumán) has reserved 83% of its 1,800 beds and the city of La Rioja 95% with respect to just over 1,100 beds in hotels,” according to the ministry.
Additionally, in the Litoral, places like Puerto IguazĂş, have 90% of their occupancy reserved, while in Entre RĂos, it reaches 80%. In Cuyo, Mendoza foresees a massive arrival of tourists with 90% reservations.
For its part in Villa de Merlo, there is 85% occupancy; while in CĂłrdoba, its largest tourist center, Villa Carlos Paz, has 67% occupancy and Villa General Belgrano 85%.
In this regard, the tourism minister, MatĂas Lammens, assured that the arrival of visitors to these destinations “it means movement of the economy and genuine work in every corner of Argentina”.
How is hotel occupancy in the province of Buenos Aires
As detailed by the Tourism portfolio, in the province of Buenos Aires, Tandil is the area that has the most lodging reservations with 95%. For its part, in coastal destinations such as Mar del Plata and Pinamar, occupancy reaches 65% and 50%, respectively.
Thanks to this, the ministry expects the extra-long weekend to be the prelude to an excellent winter vacation season, where it is expected to break the records set at the beginning of the year.
