In the last few hours, it transpired that in the 1990s, a health worker found human remains in the basement of a Post Office building in Ciudad Vieja, located in Buenos Aires and Ituzaingó (near the headquarters) that during the dictatorship (1973 -1985) functioned as a parking lot for the Presidency of the Republic.
Today it is a post office.
The man declared to channel 5, in the last hours, that he remembers that at that time he was doing work in the basement of the premises and saw the remains in a kind of cage with a concrete bed and a cell with some political inscriptions that he does not remember.
He said he didn’t talk about it before, because he didn’t know who to tell and because he was afraid. However, he acknowledged that in 2006 he met Javier Miranda and that in 2020 Defense Minister Javier García referred him to the INDHH.
For her part, the director of the INDDHH, Mariana Mota, told La Diaria that “there is a need to coordinate with the Ministry of the Interior to provide surveillance to the premises and from there start working.”
