The president of the Special Commission for the Defense of the Territory of Guyana Esequiba and Territorial Sovereignty, Hermann Escarrá, considered favorable the progress and willingness of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), to express in a sentence that it will review the fraudulent acts of the Arbitral Award of Paris of 1899, committed by Great Britain.
In this sense, he explained that the incidental sentence of the ICJ indicates the possibility of fraud by the Paris Arbitration Award, where the abuse of rights is misleading and of which Venezuela was not a party.
It also shows -he stressed- that the president of that Arbitration expressed that he wanted a unanimous decision to avoid a statement of reasons and justification.
Likewise, -continued Escarra- the sentence indicates that the Schomburgk border lines are also fraudulent, because he wanted to arbitrarily delimit the Venezuelan territory, since it was contracted by the English colony.
Thursday, the ICJ issued a judgment in which it considers that the United Kingdom has no participation in the resolution of the problems between Venezuela and Guyana, this, due to the preliminary objections presented by the Bolivarian nation on Guayana Esequiba.
In this sense, Escarrá described as an “unusual, rude and scandalous fact” that it is said that Great Britain is not part of the issue, because it was this nation that signed the Washington Treaty in 1897, as well as the Paris Arbitration Award in 1899. and the Geneva Agreement in 1966.
However, he assured that Venezuela it has proofs and documents that confirm the heritage of Guayana Esequiba, from remote years.
«After two years of reviewing maps, statements from all national and international sectors, Venezuela should not fear what has to do with its tests, with its titles; Venezuela has proof, what Guyana has is a de facto situation,” Escarra said.
He stressed that the Atlantic coast, through which heavy commercial crude oil leaves, is at risk, which is why it generates an issue of oil geopolitics and economic security for the country.
