Enríquez: It is not a question of loyalty to the opposition, people have the right to say I'm fed up

The president of the Copei party, Roberto Enríquez, said that after winning the presidential elections, the Democratic Unitary Platform will not continue with the attacks received and will deal with the PSUV party

The president of the Copei party, Roberto Enríquez, assured that there will be people throughout the country willing to defend the vote in the upcoming presidential elections on July 28 and pointed out that what is at stake is not “giving loyalty” to the opposition, but rather expressing the right to choose the option that represents Venezuelans.

“I think it is not a question of loyalty to the opposition, I think that people have the right to say I am fed up, I am tired, of saying to those who did wrong, see you later. Chavismo has to review itself, rethink, reorganize, it is up to us to treat Chavismo with respect because the Chavista leadership has not done the same with us and we cannot continue repeating the same series of aggressions of the last ones,” said Enríquez in an interview with Televen.

In his opinion, the country is heading towards a new stage thanks to the fact that “the Unitary Platform has offered a clear path with the candidate Edmundo González Urrutia.”

Enríquez also stated that after winning the presidential elections, the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD) will not continue with the attacks received and will deal with the PSUV party.

“I believe that there is a spirit of great faith in change, that “Mano, tengo fe” of the Vinotinto, has entered the hearts of the great majority of Venezuelans and I believe that we are going to have some very beautiful, forceful, clear days, where the people will show that they are not afraid of change,” he said.

The politician also referred to the abuses and setbacks that the opposition has encountered in its campaign, which is why he pointed out that it has not been dealt with “not an electoral route, but a rough path with many obstacles, with many difficulties.”

According to the president of Copei, they have witnesses throughout the country and they have the means to defend the vote of all Venezuelans. “It will be a day of great participation, a festive vigil where people will vote, it will not be a passive day.”

Enriquez pointed out that there are two main pillars for achieving coexistence in Venezuela: one, the Barbados agreement, and the other, the Mexican memorandum of understanding, and he stated that both include a word that in his opinion is important: negotiation and effective dialogue.
