On Wednesday night (16), at the crowded Defensores Del Chaco stadium, in the capital Asunción, the Brazilians lost to the hosts by 2-0 in normal time. As in the first game, Flu won 3-1, the decision went to penalties, won by Olímpia 4-1.

“We played more withdrawn, but we came in with three speed forwards. I can’t explain it, the desolation is great”, laments Abel Braga, coach of Tricolor Carioca.

With the elimination of the continental competition, Fluminense will no longer receive three million dollars (about R$ 15 million) in prize money from Conmebol.
