The growth of e-commerce was driven by the increase in sales of consumer goods and household items, which led online transactions during 2024
In statements offered this Sunday, December 15, Ujueta highlighted that the e-commerce sector continues to expand rapidly in the country, in a context where more and more traditional businesses are migrating their operations to digital platforms.
“We are above 80% growth by 2024, according to our measurements and monitoring. This reflects the great interest of both consumers and businessmen in adopting electronic commerce as a viable and efficient means of commercial exchange,” said the president of Cavecom-e during an interview for Union Radio.

Mass consumption products and household items dominated sales, Ujueta explained that this trend responds to practicality, time savings and the expansion of offers available online, aspects that continue to motivate the change in consumption patterns in the country.
The president of Cavecom-e also highlighted that the chamber actively works to promote the incorporation of small and medium-sized businesses into the digital ecosystem, to allow merchants access to technological tools that expand their markets and improve their competitiveness.
Looking ahead to 2025, Ujueta announced that one of the organization’s main objectives will be to promote the adoption of electronic commerce in public institutions such as mayors and governorates. “We want to generate a positive impact on public management, integrating digital solutions that benefit both citizens and local administrations,” he stated.
