Until 8:00 pm on the last Friday, September 30, the Public Ministry carried out more than 640 preventive operations throughout the country, according to the report of the Monitoring and Alert Center, within the framework of the Regional and Municipal Elections 2022.
Within the framework of the electoral process to be carried out on Sunday, October 2, the Public Ministry has been carrying out preventive work with the action of prosecutors on permanent alert throughout the country, influencing the campaign “Do not commit electoral crimes.”
Thus, a total of 643 operations have been reported until Friday night, where the Fiscal District of Ica has the highest incidences with 196 of them, followed by Sullana with 89 and Callao with 84.
Also the representatives of the prosecutor’s offices have made preventive verifications in the face of alerts of possible electoral crimes.
In addition, various inter-institutional coordinations have been carried out with the National Election Jury (JNE) and the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE)in charge of this electoral process.
The same has happened with the National Police (PNP) and members of the Armed Forces (Army, Navy and Air Force), in charge of providing security for the process throughout the country.
The Public Ministry has participated in dissemination, awareness-raising, and education actions regarding the electoral process with the prosecutors and their staff, who have delivered printed material to the public, and have given preventive messages, audiovisual material, and given interviews to the media.
