Tras acuerdo, dejan en libertad esposa de César El Abusador y otros 10

After an agreement, the wife of César El Abusador and 10 others are released

Santo Domingo.- Marisol Franco, wife of drug trafficker César Emilio Peralta (Caesar the Abuser), who was extradited to Puerto Rico from Colombia, was released this Friday after an agreement with the Public Ministry with her and 10 other defendants.

The freedom of Franco, who was sentenced to three years in prison, is part of the agreements signed by the Public Ministry with 11 of those involved in the drug trafficking and money laundering network led by César El Abusador.

Judge Franchesca Pontentini, of the Second Court of Instruction of the National District, accepted the request for approval made by the Public Ministry.

As part of these agreements, 10 of the defendants were sentenced to sentences of between 3 and 7 years in suspended prison, and one was favored with the extinction of the criminal action due to lack of evidence.

Among the signatories of the approved agreement are also Erick de la Cruz, Nathanael Castro Cordero alias Nato, Alan Gilberto Bueno Alcequiez, alias Alan Dollar; Rafael Reyes, José Bernabé Quiterio, alias Niño; Manuel Sánchez Pérez, alias Pupilo and Johanny Paniagua.

While Melchor Antonio Alcántara Damirón was favored with the termination of the criminal action.

His lawyers said the agreement with Alcántara Damirón consisted of a criterion of opportunity, and he agreed to deliver to the State a property that was in the name of his company but actually belonged to César El Abusador.

The specialized attorney for Anti-Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism, Ramona Nova, said that all those convicted were also imposed the payment of 200 minimum wages as a fine.

According to Nova, possibly another of those involved reaches an agreement with the Public Ministry. He pointed out that in this case there are 18 defendants and 19 companies that were dissolved.

The homologation also eliminates any measure of coercion against the accused.
