congressman Edwin Martinez (Popular Action) pointed out that children can “heal the scars” caused by sexual abuse. The legislator’s words were given during the debate of the motion that declares the importance and national interest of the commemoration of the “Day of the Unborn Child”, understanding by “Unborn Child” every human being from the moment of conception.
This Wednesday, the Plenary Session of the Congress admitted to debate with 82 votes in favor, 6 against and 17 abstentions, said motion of the “Day of the unborn child” presented by Alejandro Muñante (Popular Renovation).
“Some put the pretext of abortion to rape. I say if it is that rape had happened to those people who put abortion as a pretext, would they have been subjected to another mistreatment, which is abortion? I think not the truth”, expressed Martínez during his speech.

“A child can heal those wounds, those scars, those sequels left by those damn rapists who hurt many girls, but I believe that no one has the right to take the life of a child who is being conceived in the womb of a mother.”, he added.
In addition, the Popular Action parliamentarian summoned his colleagues in Congress to support the motion on the agenda in order to prevent it from being committed “a double crime”.
“Above all, I ask the mothers, the activist ladies, to defend life, it is not good to even imagine how cruel and painful an abortion must be.”, he mentioned.
“Double pain. Double crime because it not only causes damage when they are raped but also when they extract a piece of their being that is in their womb.”, he narrowed down.
At the end of his speech, Edwin Martínez demanded that the ministers Alfonso Chavarry (Interior) and Rosendo Serna (Education) promote from their portfolios measures that prevent more cases of sexual abuse against infants.
“The State, the Government must be allowed to have more violations, the Minister of the Interior must control this type of bad habits. The Minister of Education must begin to educate so that this type of situation does not happen”, he concluded.
