Duque recognizes collaboration with the US in cases of deported migrants

President Ivan Duke recognized that the Colombian government is collaborating with the United States authorities in the deportation of Venezuelan citizens who entered the country irregularly.

What the president explained is that the migrants who would be illegally entering US territory they had a transitory status, but they were not part of the temporary protection permit authorized by Colombia.

“It is very important to say that none of these people had temporary protection status, the previous one had immigration status, the transitory one. None of those who have the temporary is included in that group of deportations“, he pointed.

After highlighting the solidarity that Colombia has shown in the face of this humanitarian situation in Venezuelaalso called on the world to unite in this cause.

“The world has to act with solidarity in the face of this humanitarian situation that is being experienced in Venezuela, Colombia has given a message to the world receiving 1.8 million migrants with status and I hope that other countries can continue to give that pattern”.
