Dollar continues lower and approaches the $38 floor

The dollar ended this Thursday at $38,231 in the interbank average with a decrease of 0.51% compared to the closing of a day ago, as reported by the Electronic Stock Market (Bevsa).

The US currency has been down for six consecutive days and is close to $38.

Between Wednesday and Thursday the dollar fell 1.1%.

On this day, operations were for US$21.5 million, with a maximum price of $38.35 and a minimum of $38.23. As usual there were no interventions from the Central Bank (BCU) in the exchange market. The last time the BCU did so was on August 31, 2021, with spot operations for US$31.2 million.

A few days ago the president of the BCU, Diego Labat He said that there is “compliance” with the operation of the exchange market, and that intervention will only take place when “there are disorderly conditions” that make it necessary.

So far in June, the currency fell 1.41% and accumulates a decrease in the year of 4.59%, equivalent to $1.84.

In Brazil, the US currency stood at 4,801 reais with a daily decrease of 1.27%.
