Division General Luis Alberto Rodríguez López-Calleja, executive president of the Business Administration Group of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (GAESA), died this Friday as a result of cardiorespiratory arrest, according to the official newspaper Granma.
Born in 1960, López-Calleja has been considered a key man in Cuban economic decisions, he was a member of the political bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, deputy to the National Assembly of People’s Power and advisor to the President of the Republic.
In a brief note, the official organ of the PCC highlights that Luis Alberto “has a brilliant record of services to the Homeland and the Cuban Revolution.”
