The President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, offered a press conference this morning to pronounce on the violent protests that plague our country. During his speech, he ruled out a resignation from his position and announced that he will recompose the Ministerial Cabinet. In addition, he questioned Congress for not approving the advance of General elections.

Accompanied by state ministers, the president held the meeting at the Government Palace.
At 9:00 am, the president took the floor to extend her condolences to the families who lost their loved ones due to the violent demonstrations in Peru.
“From the Government House, I want to extend my condolences to the families who have lost their relatives in these times where unnecessary violence has been generated for everyone.” With these words he began his speech.
In the middle of her speech, the Head of State revealed that she was opposed to the last question of confidence that Aníbal Torres presented to Congress: “After that I withdrew (…) I protected the president to the best of my ability and recommended that this question of trust not arise,” assured.
He also referred to the coup d’état carried out by the dictator Pedro Castillo: “Pedro Castillo gave the Coup d’état on December 7 and that caused the last stretch of the conflict between Congress and the Executive; that Congress with 101 votes vacate President Castillo”.
“If the question had not been presented, surely Pedro Castillo would continue to be the president of the Republic. Who advised you to make the decision that caused that coup and vacancy? questioned.
“I am complying with the constitutional order and I want to work hand in hand with you. We must solve the main issues that the country needs”, expressed the president.
Rule out give up:
“There is a group that says that ‘Dina resigns’, but what is resolved? The problem is not solved. We are going to stand firm here until Congress approves the early elections. We have to stand firm to say no to violence, ”she exclaimed after pointing out that Peru is not there for“ political revenge ”, he pointed.
Cabinet recomposition
“I want to announce that the Cabinet that we formed in those moments of political crisis has been a Cabinet that responded to that political crisis. We are going to recompose the Cabinet to give our Peruvian population greater peace of mind with professionals ”, Boluarte remarked during the conference at the Government Palace.
Before giving the pass to the head of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces, Manuel Gómez de la Torre, he urged the congressmen to accept the early elections:
“83% of the Peruvian population wants early elections, so congressmen, do not look for excuses not to advance the elections. Do not abstain from voting, vote directly in the interest of the country”, Boluarte sentenced.
