Santo Domingo.- The National Police reported this Saturday that criminal acts such as robbery, plunder and other acts in conflict with the law, registered a reduction of between 62 and 67 percent in the 34 sectors of the National District where the pinning by quadrant was implemented.

The institution of order specified that the Data is from the first week of Decemberin the central polygon of the capital, included in Department C-1, made up of the main avenues and the sectors of La Esperilla, Naco, Los Prados, Piantini, Paraiso, Quisqueya, San Gerónimo, Los Millones and Los Jardines, among others. .

According to a report on the criminal behavior of Department C-1, which covers the aforementioned sectors, in the week of December 5 to 12, 2022, the occurrence of homicides and injuries was zero.

While the Patrol by Quadrants in the aforementioned sectors made possible a significant decrease of 67 percent in criminal acts.

While in the Department C-6, which includes the University Zone, the Heroes Center, Bella Vista, Kilometers 1, Kilometers 2Los Kilómetros 3, Los Cacicazgos, Costa Verde and Parque Mirador Sur, presented a reduction in cases of robbery of more than 62 percent.

It is recalled that the Dominican Government, through the Ministry of the Interior and Police, put into operation the new Police Patrol Strategy by Quadrants for greater control and supervision of services and to improve the trust and protection of citizens.

The initiative is a technique that consists of small geographical delimitations of a fixed sector, to which a staff is assigned to optimize and make crime prevention and deterrence more efficient.
