José Tello, who until today was Minister of Justice, was surprisingly replaced by Daniel Maurate, who was already in charge of the Labor portfolio during the Government of former President Ollanta Humala.
Neither Boluarte nor the Prime Minister, Alberto Otárola, have given explanations for this change that occurs while the judicial and police authorities finish the procedures for receiving and identifying Toledo, extradited by the US.

Boluarte also replaced the Minister of Education, Óscar Becerra, whose administration has been marked by controversial statements, the last of which was by describing the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR).
She also received extensive criticism for comparing indigenous women who were demonstrating against the government with animals.
