Díaz-Canel calls on the world’s Marxists to unite: “Socialism is the only way”

MIAMI, United States. — Cuban leader Miguel Díaz-Canel called this Thursday for all the Marxist parties in the world to unite to ensure the victory of the socialist model on a global scale.

The president’s words came during the International Forum of Marxist Parties, held virtually and organized by the Communist Party of China.

In his speech, Díaz-Canel attacked the capitalist system and the United States government, while praising China as a global political and economic benchmark.

“We are firmly convinced that socialism is the only path to development with social justice as a creative overcoming of capitalism, its unsustainable irrationality and the values ​​that guide it,” said Raúl Castro’s successor, whose was reproduced by Cuban official media.

For the ruler, the reference for the communist and leftist forces must be the Asian giant, a country whose achievements “are inspiration and encouragement for other countries in the world.”

Díaz-Canel justified the difficulties that socialist countries such as Cuba are going through with the campaigns aimed at avoiding by all means “that socialism proves its possibilities, potential and viability.”

“To do this, they are using the perverse instruments of unconventional warfare, the media intoxication laboratories, the entire campaign of disinformation, lies, double standards and hypocrisy, through social networks, with the aim of fracturing and dividing the Cuban society, in whose efforts they will fail again and again before the firm will of unity and purposes of their people.

In the case of the Caribbean island, the president assured that the Communist Party (PCC) remains focused on three main tasks: the economic battle, unity and the fight for peace, and ideological firmness.

Finally, and with the aim of guaranteeing the survival of socialism, Díaz-Canel called for the unity of all the Marxist parties in the world.

Only unity in diversity will assure us of victory,” concluded the designated president, who since last year has also served as the first secretary of the PCC on the island.
