Dialogue with oppositions supported by Colombia

The Colombian Foreign Minister, Álvaro Leyva, assured this Monday that the international conference on Venezuela, sponsored by President Gustavo Petro, will allow the resumption of political dialogue between the Government and the Venezuelan opposition.

According to the official, the dialogue process that was installed in Mexico is currently at a standstill, and for that reason, he suggested that it was opportune to invite the representatives of the Unitary Platform to participate in the forum that will take place in Bogotá.

“We are going to a meeting with countries from Latin America and Europe to promote the dialogue that must continue in Mexico, naturally for a democratic solution. Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro fully agrees with that,” Leyva said at a press conference. However, she clarified that the rules to resume political dialogue in the midst of this conference on Venezuela “are yet to be designed.”

He guaranteed that there will be no exclusion. “We are going to invite the opposition parties because naturally the political solution is with everyone,” he said.
