Dialogue with ANADEPO will be resumed in Santiago with the Ombudsman as mediator

Despite the fact that the Government convened a dialogue with the protesting groups for this afternoon at the City of Knowledge, in which the Catholic Church would be the mediator, the protesters grouped in the National Alliance for the Rights of the Peoples (ANADEPO), demanded that the table will continue in the province of Veraguas and with the Ombudsman as mediator.

Apparently the pressure of this group permeated the authorities because recently the Defender Eduardo Leblanc arrived in Santiago to participate in a meeting with a commission from the Government and ANADEPO.

Said meeting will take place at the Juan Demóstenes Arosemena Normal School and although it is unknown if the President of the Republic Laurentino Cortizo will participate in this meeting, Leblanc said that the technical commission is already on its way.

The defense team arrived in Veraguas in a plane supplied by the National Naval Air Service (SENAN) and to attend this meeting they asked that no member of the government travel with them.

“We didn’t know if the dialogue was going to be in Panama or it was going to be here, but we are here to mediate the dialogue and we are going to mediate for Panama,” said Leblanc.
