The president of the Administration and Services Commission of the National Assembly elected in December 2020, William Gil, affirmed this Monday, August 15, that the Water Law, and other articles that have already passed the first discussion such as that of Electrical Safety and the of the Right to the Interconnected City, have a good chance of going to a second discussion once they return from the parliamentary recess that begins on Tuesday, August 16 and resumes in September.

In an interview given to VTVGil pointed out that an effort has been made from the National Assembly in order to draft and approve laws in favor of citizenship and commented that so far in 2022, 13 new laws have been approved, which gives a total of 51 articulated sanctioned since the arrival of the new directive of the parliament to the Federal Legislative Palace, mentioning the Law of Special Economic Zones and the reform of the Law of the TSJ as two of the most emblematic.

Regarding the affectation of the National Electric System over the weekend, which left several areas of Caracas and the country without electricity, William Gil confirmed that it had been a lightning strike that struck an electrical tower in El Junquito that generated the fault, but said that Thanks to the workers of Corpoelec, the rapid reestablishment of the service was achieved due to the maneuvers that were carried out to prevent more states from being affected.

He dismissed criticism from some sectors about what happened and recalled that lightning struck the White House and unfortunately killed two people. In that sense, he stressed that not even they could prevent such a huge natural event and denied that the National Executive is branded as “incompetent.”

He affirmed that they have been transparent when it comes to saying the causes of electrical damage, pointing out that when it is said that it is a “sabotage” or “attack” it is reported as such, as well as when the cause that generates the adverse event is of a character natural.

He stated that the Ministry of Electric Power maintains constant surveillance and maintenance in the more than 34 thousand kilometers of lines spread throughout the country and emphasized that they carry out the “pica y poda” plan, in which they work hand in hand with various governments. so that electrical installations do not fail and said that part of the functions of regional and municipal governments focus their management on this issue.

On the issue of domestic gas, Deputy Gil indicated that fuel supply cycles have been lowered because in Venezuela there is sufficient capacity to cover domestic demand, but what is lacking now is distribution because there are many damaged units.

He recognized that there are “mafias” in the distribution of fuel and in other points of the chain, such as in the dispatch, in the trucks and the mobilization, for which he said that it is important to see the complaints and the places where they must be make an approach.

He stressed that Public Services Congresses have been held in 17 states of the country where, together with technical committees, community councils, municipal, regional and national authorities, work has been done to diagnose failures in those regions, identify problems and jointly design possible solutions; also based on the so-called “1 x 10 of good governance” scheme.

William Gil considers positive the implementation of the “bricomiles” together with the National Armed Forces and the Bolivarian National Police for the maintenance of the schools, while he stressed that the community must make a more conscious and effective use of the facilities so that they take care of them. .

He expressed that there are other laws that work within the commission that he chairs, such as the Law of Self-management Production of the Popular Habitat and the revision of the Law of the National Institute of Terrestrial Transit. He also added that they have been working hand in hand with Cantv to optimize the telecommunications issue and translate it into improvements in internet, telephony and cable TV.
