The operation of the line rock train is paralyzed by a union measure, carried out after the attack on a train driver this Sunday, after a tragic accident with a minor was generated.
From Trenes Argentinos they reported that the railway line remains suspended due to the strike being carried out by the workers, which, as they indicated, will be for an indefinite period of time. However, it is expected that the service of the rock train reactivate tomorrow.
The transporters adopted the measure of force after, this Sunday, a group of people beat up a driver who was leading a formation of the rock train that ran over a child under 4 years old at the height of the town of Bosques, in Florencio Varela.
“Due to the attacks suffered by our comrades today and due to the lack of security, the drivers of La Fraternidad – Roca line carried out an indefinite strike, with the possibility that the measure will be extended to the national level. The same is from 00:00 hours on August 15 of the current year “, expressed the union of workers.
The accident in which the minor lost his life would have occurred after he unexpectedly crossed the tracks, without giving the train driver time to react, which provoked the fury of the residents of the area, who attacked to the machinist.
Even the driver who was attacked reported that his belongings were stolen, for which the union demands greater security. Meanwhile, Trenes Argentinos reported that the force measure affects “urban and long-distance services, which will not circulate throughout the day.”
Likewise, the transport company pointed out that the place where the fatal accident occurred “is an area with fences on the side so that there is no income”, but that sometimes the same residents of the area “open clandestine steps”.
How did the accident happen
According to witnesses who witnessed the accident, the minor let go of his mother’s hand and unexpectedly crossed the tracks. Due to the proximity of the locomotivethis could not stop and impacted the minor.
“He was not playing above the road in an area that is not allowed, which is dangerous. He came out suddenly and the driver had no room for reaction,” said one of the witnesses. Although the minor was taken to a hospital, when he arrived he had already died.
