On the morning of this Wednesday, August 3, the masista deputy Rolando Cuéllar arrived at the building of the Departmental Electoral Court (TED) of Santa Cruz, along with a group of supporters of his party, to request the requirements for a recall referendum to Santa Cruz Governor Luis Fernando Camacho.

“In a year and four months of management there are no works in the department of Santa Cruz, there is no public management, it is attacking the economy of the people of Cruceño, it is against economic reactivation and we have the responsibility as deputies to safeguard the interests of the people of Cruceño,” Cuéllar pointed out.

The deputy explained that, based on article 240 of the Political Constitution of the State (CPE), When the governor completes half of his term, he may be subject to recall and he wants to start this process once and for all.

“We are going to meet all the requirements to once and for all sign with 15% (of the number of voters on the electoral roll) to tell Mr. Luis Fernando Camacho that he has to go home,” he said.

He took the opportunity to speak out against the 48-hour departmental strike announced for next Monday and Tuesday (August 8 and 9). He called for a “heavy hand” from the police and judicial authorities to guarantee the right to work and freedom of movement.

“We want to tell the people of Santa Cruz: ‘yes’ to the recall of Luis Fernando Camacho and ‘no’ to the strike. We ask the General Commander of the Police the guarantees for the union members and carriers, and the Departmental Prosecutor’s Office with a firm hand for the criminals who want to loot and steal in the name of the census”, he concluded.

In this regard, the governor of Santa Cruz Luis Fernando Camacho downplayed Cuéllar’s initiative and argued that they seek to destabilize his management. “It is a right that they have,” said the authority, but they sent Cuéllar to wait because time still has to pass and it will be the people who decide on an eventual revocation of his management.

Camacho is not surprised or worried that from masismo they attack his management, arguing that they are already known strategies in a position of servility.
