Judith Pena | January 24, 2023

The Ombudsman Eduardo Leblanc González, asked the Executive to sanction Law No. 747 as soon as possible, which modifies Law 73 of 2019 “Which establishes public access to defibrillation.”

This after the Bill was approved in the third debate, Leblanc said he was very pleased because with this law all Panamanians will be given access and with it many lives can be saved through immediate assistance in the event of a cardiac emergency.

The Ombudsman stated that he expects the Executive Branch to “promptly sanction this law” so that in this way the Ministry of Health (MINSA) can demand that institutions, private companies, schools, shopping centers, airlines, among others, comply with its execution. , in order to guarantee the right to health of all the inhabitants of the national territory.

It should be noted that a defibrillator is a light and portable equipment that can identify an abnormality of the heartbeat.
