Through social networks, Carabineros Prefectura Central reported that “hooded men set fire to a public transport bus, cutting off traffic in the 5 de Abril sector with Las Rejas. Prefer alternative routes and drive with caution.”

In parallel, blocks further up, on 5 de Abril with Manuel Rivas, a group of individuals began to launch incendiary devices at the Police Public Order Control Personnel (COP), forcing the officers to use deterrent means.

As a result of these events, a first corporal of the Carabineros was reported injured by a ballistic impact on one of his legs in the Villa Francia sector. As a result of the above, he was transferred to the Carabineros Hospital out of vital risk.

Minutes later, a third bus was confirmed on fire on Avenida Américo Vespucio with Recoleta, in the Huechuraba commune.
The Santiago Norte Prefecture reported that subjects “set public transport bus on fire at the intersection of Avenida Américo Vespucio with Recoleta. Drive with caution and pay attention to traffic conditions.”
