Shortly after the Congress of the Republic gave way to the vacancy of the former President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, due to permanent moral incapacity and recently, for having promoted a coup d’état, the demonstrations for and against this position they did not wait.
It is so that in Cusco, several groups of citizens came to the main square in order to support the vacancy of the former national boss, pointing out that he had betrayed his vote and trust with his wrong actions.
Thus, while they were demonstrating against the professor, they were hit by another group that arrived, flags in hand, to show their support for the ousted presidentgetting involved in a verbal confrontation.
“Castillo you have betrayed Cusco, all of us who voted for you, were corrupt”said a protester, while another replied “Shut down the obstructionist Congress that does not operate in favor of the people but rather their interests.”
Finally, the event did not get any further and after a demonstration of approximately one hour, both groups withdrew, some Castillo supporters promised marches in his favor in the following hours.
Earlier from Cusco, the regional governor of this region, Jean Paul Benavente, in his capacity as president of the National Assembly of Regional Governments, ran against the dissolution of Congress and the coupreferring that the entity he represents was against any undemocratic action.
