Mining exports grew 19% in November

The mining exports Peruvian investments in November 2024 amounted to US$4,212 million, which reflected a growth of 19% compared to the same month in 2023 (US$3,536 million), reported the National Society of Mining, Petroleum and Energy (SNMPE).

The increase in copper exports registered in November was because the price of this metal increased by 9.2%. In volume, meanwhile, it grew by 12.3% compared to the same month in 2023.

On the other hand, it indicated that foreign sales of gold reached US$1,315 million in November 2024, which represented an increase of 27% compared to the same month in 2023 (US$1,035 million). Shipments of this precious metal benefited from the increase in its price by 33.4%, despite the fact that the volume registered a decrease of 4.8% compared to the same month in 2023.

ACCUMULATED PER YEAR

The SNMPE announced that mining shipments, from January to November 2024, totaled US$42,757 million, representing a growth of 10.3%, when compared to the same period in 2023 (US$38,774 million).

Likewise, he reported that, between January to November of last year, copper exports represented 50% of mining products sold abroad.
