Mayor Jhonny Fernández announced that they are finalizing the details to apply the Safe Return to Class plan. He announced that they will tender the purchase of more than 2,500 security cameras for educational units.

“We are finalizing details for the return to school. is maintaining the 1,800 cameras that exist inside and around the schools”Fernandez explained.

The burgomaster announced that The tender for the purchase of another 2,500 security cameras to be installed in educational centers has already been launched.

Fernandez assured that 82% of educational centers already have internetso that the surveillance cameras work, as well as the computers that have been given to high school students.

“We have reached an agreement with the Police, the Ombudsman, the Secretary of Citizen Security and the Directorate of Education, for the permanent patrol plan starting Monday (July 24). For this, there are 12 vans available, in areas where criminals proliferate or crimes have been registered.“.

The safe return to school plan is part of the actions that were agreed upon in a multidisciplinary meeting, in in which various institutions participated after various reports of acts of violence in educational establishments.

Surveillance cameras, permanent patrolling, training, among other actions were part of the conclusions reached at that meeting.
