The federal government edited this Friday (1st) new rule removing the obligation for employers to provide masks to prevent covid-19 where the requirement for this measure in closed places was relaxed.Covid-19: government changes rule on the offer of masks by employers

The interministerial decree of the ministries of Health and of Labor and Welfare updates the measures to prevent and combat the pandemic in the workplace. The supply of masks must be maintained if the municipality has high health alert levels (151 to 499 cases per 100 thousand people) and very high (more than 500 cases per 100 thousand people).

In addition to easing the obligation to deliver masks by companies, the ordinance lists preventive measures, such as the distance of at least one meter between employees, hand hygiene with gel alcohol and limits of people in transport provided by employers.

removal

The norm maintains the need for companies and other workplaces to carry out early identification and remove workers who have had a positive diagnosis for covid-19.

The person with a confirmed case must be removed for 10 days. The person can return earlier, with seven days, as long as they have not had symptoms in the previous 24 hours and are not using antipyretic drugs.

The removal must also apply to those who had contact with the infected person between two days before and 10 days after the onset of symptoms, provided that this interaction was for at least 15 minutes and less than 1 meter away.

Also included in this category are touch contacts, such as handshakes and hugs, between the infected person and a co-worker who are not wearing face protection masks.

However, the norm releases people who have had contact with an infected person from removal if they have the complete vaccination schedule, according to the guidelines defined by the Ministry of Health.

Suspected cases

The determination of removal should also be adopted in suspected cases. These are considered those who have at least two symptoms, including fever, cough, difficulty breathing, difficulty tasting and smelling, chills, sore throat and headache, runny nose and diarrhea.

The deadline is also 10 days, which can be shortened to seven days under the conditions of the confirmed ones. For people with suspicion, it is possible to return after five days if the test is negative.
