The Ministry of Health (Minsal) published this Sunday morning the daily report on the situation of the pandemic in the country. The portfolio reported that there were 3,914 new cases of Covid-19 and 16 deaths in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, active cases reached 16,159.
Of the 3,914 new cases of Covid-19, 2,335 correspond to symptomatic people and 524 do not present symptoms. In addition, 1,055 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.
Although the new confirmed cases at the national level increased by 2% in the last week, at 14 days there is a decrease of 36%. Meanwhile, nine regions decrease their cases in the last 7 days, while all do so in the last 14 days.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the country reaches 4,607,566. Of this total, 16,159 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 4,521,045.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours, 16 deaths were registered due to causes associated with Covid-19. The total number of deceased amounts to 61,062 in the country.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, the results of 45,003 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported yesterday, reaching a total of 44,989,224 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 8.44% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 8.09%.
To date, 135 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 83 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 289 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
